Pure NX Open for Python with Block UI Styler dialogs: nothing to compile. The download includes a sample part and the Excel files used in the screenshots.

Install

  1. Unzip. Put the pointsat folder somewhere NX can read, for example D:\nx_custom\pointsat. It holds application (the dialogs and Python), startup (the menu and ribbon tab) and samples.
  2. Add that folder to the custom_dirs.dat your site uses, or to a file named by UGII_CUSTOM_DIRECTORY_FILE.
  3. Restart NX. A Points@ ribbon tab appears with Import Points, Export Points and Replace Points, and the same three under Menu › Points@.

Try it on the samples

  1. Open samples\points_demo.prt.
  2. Import rib_holes.xlsx: starting cell A2, XYZ, set name Rib holes. Press Apply.
  3. In the same dialog, import spar_xy.xlsx: starting cell B3, XY, set name Spar. Press OK.
  4. Replace: rib_holes_rev_b.xlsx at A2 into Rib holes.
  5. Export: Retrieve All, select both sets, starting cell A2 with a header row, to a new .xlsx.

With an existing toolbar

The commands are three journals in application: PointsAt_Import_Command.py, PointsAt_Export_Command.py and PointsAt_Replace_Command.py. Any button or menu item can call them; the dialog files must stay beside them.
